Granite Countertops

Granite comes from quarries all over the world. It is mined in blocks, cut into slabs and then fabricated to your specifications. Granite is a popular choice for both bathroom and kitchen counters due to its unique color variation and veining – the look of natural stone can’t be beat!

When considering granite counters, it’s important to keep in mind that some types of granite are porous. In order to prevent staining, a sealer should be utilized periodically. Sealing is a simple process and should be part of regular maintenance. Granite is also very heat-resistant, but can be damaged from extreme, direct heat exposure (ex. hot pans).

Quartz Countertops

Quartz countertops are made from crushed quartz, in various sizes, mixed with pigments and polymer resin to bind the material together and form the slab required to make your countertops. Full size quartz slabs are extremely consistent with the smaller samples used for choosing your color.

Quartz countertops and backsplashes are low maintenance and free from the pitting and fissures that can be found in natural stone. Additionally, since quartz is not porous, it does not require any sealing. It is, however, susceptible to damage from heat exposure and the use of abrasive cleaners.

I chose to go through Designer Stone because I could simply see all the beautiful colors of granite/quartz they have out front and on their display. Also, I have to say they are a great company to work with when you got a dream project to complete without breaking the bank. The staff are very kind, helpful, and hard workers. Thanks to Designer Stone and their staff I have granite countertops everywhere in my new home and will be referring them to my friends and family.

We initially started planning a kitchen/family room remodel in October 2021. After choosing our cabinets, we found ourselves at The Designer Stone Company, still unsure of what type of counter we wanted. Their team assisted us explaining the grades of the stone and what type of polishes were available. We came back to The Designer Stone in February to finalize our decision.  From start to finish, we were very pleased with every aspect of our purchase. The install crew was very professional, Georgia was very helpful assisting us and even called after the finalization of the project to make sure everything was satisfactory. We would highly recommend The Designer Stone Company to anyone looking to replace or install new counters!

The Designer Stone Company installed our new granite countertops at the end of last year and since then, the kitchen has become the “family room” of our house. Thanks for giving us a kitchen to be proud of!

I have been wanting to put in granite countertops for years, from the moment we walked into the showroom we were greeted with professional and kind people. Georgia was patient and knowledgeable of the products she took the time with us to pick out what I really wanted. Everyone that we came into contact with was courteous and knew what they were doing, from measuring, to letting me pick out the layout on the granite, to installing the countertops and then the installation of the backsplash. We are happy and we love our new countertops.
